Stocks in Focus: GIFT Nifty traded up by 83 points or 0.39% at 21,271 indicating a positive opening for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Wednesday. Previously, on Tuesday, the NSE Nifty 50 lost 333 points or 1.54% to settle at 21,238.80, while the BSE Sensex declined by 1,053 points or 1.47% to 70,370.55.

The government may go slow on sale of any extra stake in the company and wait for investors who participated in the state-run insurer’s initial public offer to book a decent capital appreciation.

Bharti Airtel

The company has prepaid Rs 8,325 crore to the Department of Telecom for the partial prepayment of the deferred liabilities for spectrum won in the 2015 auction.

REC

Rural Electrification Corporation’s net profit for the quarter grew by 14% from last year to Rs 3,269.3 crore.

The company reported an 18% increase in its net interest income to Rs 4,159 crore for the quarter ending December.

REC’s gross NPA improved to 2.78% from 3.14% in the previous quarter, while net NPA stood at 0.82% from 0.96% in September.

MakeMyTrip

On Tuesday, the company said its operating margin grew 105.6% to $29.4 million in the December quarter against $14.3 million in the same period last fiscal.

Au Small Finance Bank

The bank has received the nod from the Competition Commission of India to merge Fincare Small Finance Bank in itself. But, the merger is still pending to be approved by RBI.

Pidilite

Pidilite Industries reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 511 crore for the quarter ending December, up 66% from the same period a year ago.

The company’s consolidated revenue from operations came in at Rs 3,129.99 crore, up 4.4%. 

JSW Energy

JSW Energy posted an increase of 24.36% year-on-year in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ending December due to a robust contribution from its thermal portfolio and merchant sales.

Havells

Havells India recorded a net profit of Rs 287.91 crore for the quarter ended December, recording a 1.54 percent rise from Rs 283.52 crore a year ago.

Amber Enterprises

Amber Group in pact with South Korea’s Korean Circuit to boost its printed circuit board portfolio, the company said.
